Dance/fighting all night long

Get something I'd change out of the way. That would be either the speed in which the water is pushed up or the size of the container. Partly because they look like they are dance-fighting the whole time and partly jellyfish (IRL) aren't very active, at all. If the speed of water can't be changed, then I think the container should be larger. All this to say, we got it for relaxation/meditative reasons as well as a distraction for our cat. Although it does, more or less, fulfill the needs we got it for, I just can't help but laugh at the way they roll over each other

So relaxing!

Bought for my cats but they paid no attention to it so I took to my classroom. It’s so calming and students love it.

We love this!

My 11 y/o son absolutely loves his Jellyfish Lamp. Way better than any lava lamp! Friends and family are also fascinated by it. Super easy to set up. It’s large and mesmerizing. Holds a gallon of distilled water.

Very Nice

I just pulled it out of the box today to set it up and I wished that there was a bigger opening for cleaning. Overall though, it looks like it will be a lot of fun for my son to watch at night. Can't wait to get it put together for him.

Great lid!

I got this today and was pleasantly surprised at the quality. The instructions, for one, were illustrated and easy to understand and accurate (except, being nitpicky, it shows a 3-prong plug and the one received was 2-prong). I didn't realize when I ordered, but the top doesn't screw off - it's permanently attached and has a silicone/rubber stopper instead. The motor is so quiet, I didn't know it was on at first. I can hear it now as a low hum, but only if I'm paying attention, and I'm sitting only a foot away.I had read some of the reviews here before, so I knew that dish soap is pretty important to keep everything functional. I put a few drops in my hand and rubbed the jellyfish all over with it before putting them in the tanks. As the instructions say, it's important to put the jelly fish in upside down- you let them fill up with water (like scooping water into a bowl) before letting them drift down. And if anything is stuck or builds up bubbles, you can again follow the instructions to use a chopstick or straw to tug at them. They started floating around right away - when one was stuck in the corner, it only needed a few chopstick pokes to start floating around again.I keep having to stop writing to stare at them again. You can see their reflections against the side of the glass, which maybe would be annoying for some, but it just makes it look hypnotic, like the water is deep and there are other jellyfish behind them. The light setting I'm using has them glowing like under blacklight, so they remind me of those neon fish you see at pet stores.I don't have distilled water, so I used tap water - I think this doesn't damage anything, but would only contribute to cloudiness in the water. That would depend on your local tap water source, but for me, it is fine.I worry having this around cats and relatively close to hardware/outlets, so I moved the electronics and crossed my fingers and tipped it over (slowly). I was surprised that only a couple drops spilled. The black lid of the unit seems firmly attached (even after I had tried to screw it off pretty hard, before I checked the directions), so the only way for water to leak out is the small circle at the top. And the silicone cover held fast - it has a single tiny hole to let air in/out, so that is where the drops came from. It's not unbreakable - the clear plastic is listed as fragile. It's a very cool thing! I think when I was looking for similar fake jellyfish a while ago, I was looking at much smaller containers. This one is pretty big and hefty, more than twice the height of my hands (and a little less than half as wide as one hand). I like it a lot.
